Team and Position Summary :

Walmart Fulfillment Team is responsible for building data driven highly optimized supply chain suite of products to manage entire gamut of supply chain lifecycle for our retail and ecommerce lines of business. With our rapidly increasing footfalls in stores and exponential growth in online orders; this all has to be done to scale millions of owned and marketplace SKUs complete inbound and outbound fulfilment lifecycles.

Teams mission – Enable customers to receive their orders when and where they want in an innovative and cost effective way for Walmartderives from Walmarts mission statement – Save Money. Live Better complementing our organizations philosophy to deliver low prices every day, on everything.

How we achieve this, comes down to the team of smartest technologists focused on the entire suite of supply chain management products for the Walmart Supply Chain at a massive scale.

From forecasting; replenishing inventory for millions of items worth billions of dollars, sourcing of millions of orders, to route optimization & last mile delivery to Warehouse Management Systems to most advanced grocery; order management systems; technology is the backbone behind the entire platform enabling the massive cloud-scale supply chain.

What you will do :

– Through this role you have an opportunity to develop intuitive software that meets and exceeds the needs of the customer and the company.

– You will be responsible for design, architecture, and end-to-end delivery of one or more systems/products while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

– You will have to estimate effort, identify risks, help with prioritization and devising/meeting project schedules.

– You will raise the bar on sustainable engineering by improving best practices, producing best in class of code, documentation, testing and monitoring.

– You will build and maintain systems in a way that ensures compliance with certification, regulatory standards, and a technology-based information security program.

– In this role you will ensure product architecture and implementations are highly scalable, extensible with superior performance

– You will show your skills in analyzing and testing programs/products before formal launch to ensure flawless performance

– You will cultivate and suggest ideas for the extension of current systems to new products and services.

– You will ensure on-schedule delivery of a high-quality product that meets business and technical requirements.

– You will be Mentoring /coaching other engineers in the team to facilitate their development and to provide technical leadership to them.

What you will bring :

– A BE/BTech/ME/MTech//PhD in Computer Science or equivalent.

– 12+ years of strong design/development experience in building massively large scale distributed systems and products

– Extensive experience in architecting and developing real-time multithreaded Java applications that are fault-tolerant, scalable and can handle high volumes

– Excellent computer systems fundamentals, DS/Algorithms and problem solving skills. Expert in OO design and design patterns.

– Advanced, inside-out knowledge (coding experience) in Java, Spring Framework, Oracle, NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes.

– Good exposure to any of the public cloud infrastructure such as Open Stack, Azure, GCP, or AWS.

– Experience in developing and designing applications and web services in a Service Oriented Architecture, including the use of RESTful services and API gateways.

– Mentor junior developers and continuously improve software engineering practices.
