Software Engineer, ChromeOS Firmware

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting
Experience with Linux, device drivers and embedded programming in C

Preferred qualifications:

Experience building consumer electronics and knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, and customer support processes
Experience with Linux development environment and git/gerrit tools
Experience developing in coreboot, Zephyr OS, or other open-source projects
Experience bringing up USB-C stack, sensors, and other peripherals
Ability to read hardware schematics and investigate hardware issues

Responsibilities

Work with a larger team of engineers and product managers to design and develop firmware features.
Participate in board bring-ups and work with partners to deliver new ChromeOS devices.
Evaluate and help improve firmware code and processes for scalability and maintainability.
Collaborate with a global team of software and hardware engineers on new technology proposals and process improvements.
Maintain the high quality bar by increasing unit and integration test coverage.
